For the first time, the PSA Security Network is opening up its annual conference and expo to nonmembers. The move is part of PSA combining its expo with the National Systems Contractors Association’s (NSCA) Systems Integration Expo.
The combined PSA/NSCA event will take place from March 15-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. PSA will host the Security and Life Safety pavilion at the NSCA expo. PSA’s conference had been held the past 15 years in Denver as a members-only event.
“With the move to Las Vegas, PSA now has infinite expansion possibilities, both with hotel rooms and space on the show floor,” says PSA President Bill Bozeman. “Previously, our exhibit schedule had been only one day long so many of our members didn’t have time to visit all of the different vendors. Now, the exhibits will last three days – more than enough time for everyone to attend the training classes and seminars and still have adequate time to visit the show floor.”
Training, networking and technical demonstrations will highlight PSA’s upcoming conference. PSA says the combined organizations complement each other, with NSCA focusing on integrated commercial systems while PSA focuses on high-end security and life safety systems. During the combined expo, PSA will continue to run its own conference simultaneously, holding private functions at the Flamingo Hotel, including the PSA Vendor Appreciation Awards banquet.
“For the first time, nonmembers can attend PSA seminars, which are considered the best in the industry,” Bozeman says. ” The Systems Integration Expo is the best opportunity for the industry to see and compare state-of-the-art security solutions and to train in classes that combine professionalism and high standards and are focused on improving performance.”
The security/life safety education tracks at the expo will include “Security Integration – Is It the Right Road for Your Business?” “Hiring and Managing Successful Salespeople,” “Smart Card Technology” and “Biometrics 101.” In addition to classes, PSA will be offering casino security tours of some of the major hotels on the Las Vegas Strip including the Bellagio, the Flamingo and the MGM Grand.
