Questions Rise About Non-Functioning Security Cameras in Downtown Cleveland

An investigation found that 16 downtown surveillance cameras are not working. But the city has an explanation for that.

CLEVELAND — An investigation into the City of Cleveland’s

City Spokesman Dan Ball issued the following statement: “Due to the infrastructure requirements of the downtown safety cameras, the city was unable to restructure other cameras to make up for those affected by the construction.”

The city expects to have the cameras up and running again when the construction is finished, eyeing a completion date before June’s Republican National Convention.
