RAE Systems Inc., a provider of chemical and radiation sensors and networks, announces the purchase of Aegison Corp., o f Santa Clara, Calif. Included are the firm’s assets and two pending patents.

Having partnered with Aegison, we developed a deep understanding of the competitive advantages for an integrated digital video surveillance and wireless sensor solution,” says Robert Chen, CEO with RAE Systems. “Recognizing this advantage, we seized the opportunity to secure the technology exclusively for RAE Systems. The purchase of Aegison reaffirms our commitment to the security market and broadens our offering, enabling us to provide security and safety solutions that deliver both real-time sensor data and visual records of events.
According to RAE, this purchase will allow the firm to leverage Aegison’s customer base. Aegison has also built a relationship with law enforcement, municipal transportation, and the United States military. The firm’s work in the entertainment sector has also allowed Aegison to develop contacts with companies like Universal Studios.
