FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Monitronics Int’l will open a 165,000-square-foot campus here in response to the firm’s rapid growth.
The company has signed a deal with Billingsley Co., a Dallas-based development firm, to become the first corporate tenant at Mercer Business Park, a 225-acre development, according to news reports.
Monitronics has experienced a sharp increase in growth since it acquired Security Networks for $507 million last year, prompting the company to seek more space.
“At one point in time, [Monitronics] ran out of parking and we leased them a parking lot we owned for $1 a year,” John Land, director of economic development and tourism for the city of Farmers Branch told Dallas Business Journal. “They continue to add staff and have a good business model.
Monitronics currently has 800 employees; however, in accord with its plans for growth, the firm expects to employ up to 1,000 workers at its new operations within the next three years, Dallas Business Journal reported.
The three-story campus is expected to open by summer 2015.
