ST. LOUIS – Fire, life safety and security industry-focused buy-and-build platform RapidFire Safety & Security has acquired Pro-Alarm LLC (Pro-Alarm), expanding RapidFire’s southern Illinois and greater St. Louis footprint and “reinforcing their commitment to delivering a high-quality customer experience across the region.”

Based in Marine, Ill., Pro-Alarm is a full-service alarm company with more than four decades of industry experience. The company specializes in the installation, service and monitoring of security alarms, fire alarms, video surveillance and access control solutions for commercial and government customers.

Since 1984, Pro-Alarm “has built its reputation on delivering quality work supported by a ‘service what we sell’ philosophy and a commitment to responsive customer care,” according to the joint announcement. Pro-Alarm is licensed in Illinois and holds St. Louis County communications contractor and alarm licenses.

Pro-Alarm will continue to operate with its existing team. The acquisition “supports RapidFire’s ongoing strategy of partnering with established, customer-focused providers in key markets to expand its capabilities and deliver a high-quality, consistent customer experience across its growing footprint,” the joint announcement says.

Why Did RapidFire Acquire Pro-Alarm?

“We are pleased to welcome Pro-Alarm, its employees, and its customers to RapidFire,” says Brian Modglin, chief operating officer of RapidFire Safety & Security, in the joint announcement. “Don & Terri have built a respected business defined by strong customer relationships, technical expertise and a long-standing commitment to service.

“This partnership strengthens our position in the greater St. Louis market and expands our ability to serve customers across Illinois and Missouri with additional resources and capabilities,” he says.

“The addition of Pro-Alarm reflects our continued focus on expanding and strengthening our service offerings in key markets,” says Bob Ricucci, chief revenue officer of RapidFire Safety & Security, in the joint announcement. “Their experienced team and established customer base further enhance our ability to deliver value to clients across the region.”

“When thinking about the future for our employees and customers, my #1 goal was a continuation of the high quality sales, service, and momentum. We did not want to just let the company we built over the last 42 years servicing our family, friends and neighbors go to a recurring monthly revenue only buyer,” says Don Satterlee, owner of Pro-Alarm, in the joint announcement.

“The fit with RapidFire Safety & Security made sense looking to the future for our clients and employees,” he says. “The continuation will be there along with the added benefit of a larger company and upward momentum for our employees, plus access to more industry products for our clients was also appealing. I see possibilities in the future of a larger footprint as we continue to put our promise of quality sales and service first.”

Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney served as legal counsel for the transaction.
