IP-based access control provider Reach Systems Inc. has partnered with Axis Communications and Secure-i, a video hosting service, to deliver fully integrated access control and IP video as a managed service. It is expected to launch in April.
Reach Systems will now offer its customers IP-based video surveillance that can be associated with a range of physical security devices, such as access control, alarms and environmental monitoring.
The integrated IP-based solution will allow users to receive and forward both live and recorded video through the standard Reach Web browser-based interface. The solution will allow users to attach video to each unauthorized access attempt or perimeter security breach, eliminating the need to search for and match video content to security events. All application software and storage are hosted remotely.
“We deliberately designed our platform and service delivery model to drive down the cost of security deployments for those customers who have to manage many remote sites centrally, while allowing our channel partners to create profitable recurring revenue from managed services,” says Glenn Forrester, Reach Systems founder and CEO. “However, what makes us unique is that our platform is open for connecting all manner of devices which allows us to very quickly package ‘segment specific’ solutions for the market that even go beyond physical security.”
