Irvine, Calif.-based HID Global announces the launch of the mullion-mounted reader, suited for upgrading from the MiniProx to iCLASS® (R15) or multiCLASS™ (RP15) access control readers. The product is 100-percent mechanical and electrical backward compatible, according to the company.
The product employs the same footprint, power requirements and ease of installation as the MiniProx, according to the company. The reader allows customers to gradually transition to contactless smart cards over time while incorporating the use of multiple card technologies within a single building or across multiple facilities.
