The Freedonia Group estimates the U.S. demand for
electronic security products and systems will reach $15.5
billon in 2008. The industrial market research firm
attributes the projected 8.7-percent annual growth to a
favorable, post-9/11 security market and anticipated
improved capital spending dynamics and continued security
concerns.

CCTV and access control systems are particularly promising
because they cost-effectively maximize security. Freedonia
specifically expects digital-based CCTV and biometric
access controls to experience strong gains.

Increases in electronic article surveillance (EAS),
however, will occur slowly.
