Research indicates American broadband subscription to be in
decline, Parks Associates announced. A new report shows
that less than one-third of American households using dial-
up are interested in a broadband upgrade within the next 12
months. It is expected that 2004 will fall short of the 50-
percent gain in broadband households experienced in 2003.
Parks Associates says broadband interest peaked in the
fourth-quarter of 2002, but has dropped because of expense
and a lack of enticing benefits.
The findings were published in Parks Associates’ Trends
in U.S. Broadband Adoption, which featured data
collected in the fourth quarter of 2003.
