LAS VEGAS — Resideo announced the availability of its two-way, professionally installed and monitored wireless combination smoke/heat and carbon monoxide (CO) detector at CES 2019.
The Honeywell Home SiXCOMBO utilizes the encrypted SiX two-way wireless technology for an increased level of security.
The detector features a “one-go-all-go” feature, in which if a sensor in the basement, for example, detects danger and begins to sound, all sensors across that home will sound as well, according to the company.
The central station is then automatically alerted. The system does an automatic performance check every 200 seconds.
In addition to a built-in sounder, the SiXCOMBO features multi-lingual voice alerts to make occupants aware of the threat and announce what action should be taken.
A multi-color LED provides a visual alert. A smoke alarm condition illuminates red and a CO alarm condition illuminates blue.
Using a number of sensors, the SiXCOMBO is said to be able to distinguish between a real fire and a nuisance issue.
An infrared (IR) flame sensor measures ambient light levels and flame signatures, while thermal detection monitors temperature. Automatic drift compensation of smoke and CO sensors accommodates for dust build-up over time, according to the company.
The device can be configured remotely as needed and works with Lyric Controller and Gateway Home Control platform.
The SiXCOMBO is on display in the Resideo booth #41125 at CES.
