SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Rhombus Systems, a manufacturer of security cameras and sensors, has introduced its new A100 Audio Gateway.

The latest product from the security equipment company delivers real-time audio with video, as well as two-way communication alerts based on specific triggers and it also offers alarm broadcasting during emergency situations.

“The issue with today’s security systems that offer audio recordings is that the audio is low quality and does little to improve safety. It’s purely used for contextual information,” states Omar Khan, co-founder and CTO of Rhombus Systems. “The A100 is a truly ground-breaking audio device that captures clearer audio, provides two-way audio support, and layers AI-based audio analytics, so users can be notified when a gunshot is detected, or a fight breaks out. When you’re dealing with safety, seconds matter and the A100 provides proactive data and features to help defuse security issues in real-time.”

Rhombus Systems explains that its latest product features smart audio recognition capabilities that users can employ to continuously monitor their properties. The product can send autonomic notifications to users for unusual audio based on keywords, noise levels and specific sounds.

The company notes the A100 is capable of detecting aggressive voices, odd sounds and things such as gunshots, calls for help, breaking glass and more in real time.

“The A100 allows us to securely monitor our facilities while delivering a higher level of insight than we thought was possible,” comments Brad Minsley, managing director at 10 Federal. “Many of our facilities are managed entirely remotely, and obtaining high-quality audio recordings alongside video footage gives us unprecedented context into what’s happening onsite. Meanwhile, the sensor’s two-way communication lets us provide live support to our customers from anywhere in the world. The A100 has been transformative from a security and operations perspective.”

Rhombus Systems adds the A100 can also serve as a gateway for all of its sensors to allow users to get actionable data across their facilities. Moreover, the new audio gateway’s two-way audio supports the connection of external microphones and speakers to facilitate spoken word, broadcast, messages or alarms at scale at high volume levels.
