LA FOX, Ill. – Richardson Electronics Ltd. has changed the name of its security division to Burtek Systems. By changing the name to Burtek Systems, Richardson expects to take advantage of Burtek’s positive brand recognition within the sound and security industries. The change is designed to take advantage of Burtek’s 25 years of quality products and technical support for commercial and residential audio, burglar and fire alarm, video, access control, and data communication products.
Richardson Electronics acquired Burtek Systems Corp. of Canada in 1997. Burtek was then allowed to continue operations under the same name. To celebrate the renaming of the security division, Richardson held a series of events for its U.S. and Canadian vendors and their clients in July.
