Richardson Electronics Ltd. has changed the name of its
security division to Burtek Systems. By changing the name
to Burtek Systems, Richardson expects to take advantage of
Burtek’s positive brand recognition within the sound and
security industries.
The change is designed to take advantage of Burtek’s 25 years of quality products and technical support for commercial and residential audio, burglar and fire alarm, video, access control, and data communication products.
“This change will allow the division to present one unified sales and marketing approach throughout the United States and Canada, and coincides with significant infrastructure investments that will improve support to all our partners. We now have 16 full service distribution outlets in North America to better support our vendors and our customers, many of whom are expanding rapidly both geographically and technologically,” says Wendy Diddell, executive vice president and general manager of the division.
Richardson Electronics acquired Burtek Systems Corp. of Canada in 1997. Burtek was then allowed to continue operations under the same name.
To celebrate the renaming of the security division, Richardson plans to launch a series of events for its U.S. and Canadian vendors and their clients. Included on the agenda are cookouts at all Richardson branchnes, store specials and contests throughout the month of July. In addition, there will be cookouts at all Burtek branches on July 14th.
