Robotic Assistance Devices Adds Face Mask Detection, Alerts to Solutions

When a person without a mask is detected by RAD’s autonomous robotic security device, the system can generate audible and visible alerts to remind people to mask up.

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. — Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD) has released a face mask detection and alert system that is now available across its entire lineup of stationary and mobile devices at no additional cost.

RAD‘s AI-powered product lineup includes a stationary security tower, wall-mounted security devices, a self-contained security and communication device, and a roaming security robot.

The company says its face mask detection system can be used to detect face mask compliance for the following purposes:

  1. Create options for enforcement such as sending emails to offenders
  2. Track compliance across many areas using visual compliance tracking charts
  3. Automatically prevent people who are not wearing masks from entering buildings or other controlled area where masks are required

When a person without a mask is detected by the autonomous robotic security device, the system can generate, depending on customer preferences, audible and visible alerts to remind people to mask up, according to the company.

It also feeds alerts and a Cloud-based data storage system so security executives can analyze data for trends or quickly locate video of important incidents. The mask detection feature can be activated on all RAD devices based on client requests.

RAD says its analytic features can empower executives to monitor mask compliance at retail establishments and other workplaces, and compare compliance rates across multiple sites so management teams can address sites with low compliance first.
