TORRANCE, Calif. — Now that the Oscars have been handed out and the celebrities of Hollywood have had their moments to shine, it’s time for the contractors to take the limelight for the 2004 SAMMYs.
Not quite as prestigious as the Academy Awards, but just as coveted by the winners, the 9th Annual Sales and Marketing (SAMMYs) Awards Program will take place at the Venetian Resort Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on March 30, and tuxes will be optional.
The 4:30 p.m. ceremony is free to everyone and features hors d’oeuvres, refreshments and plenty of chances to network with new faces or renew acquaintances with others.
Among the finalists in the 12 categories, Irvine, Calif.’s Greater Alarm and Guardian Protection Services of Pittsburgh garnered the most nominations with five each. Among those also receiving multiple nods were All-Guard Systems of Hayward, Calif., and Sonitrol of Alexandria, Va.
