SafetyCare Technologies, a home security monitoring company, and Executone Communications LLC, a provider of VoIP and converged network services, have teamed with the Chain Drug Marketing Association (CDMA) to offer personal emergency response systems (PERS) to more than 6,000 pharmacies.
Elderly or disabled individuals can use the wireless response systems by pressing a button on a PERS bracelet or pendant to access the SafetyCare Response Center in the event of an emergency.
SafetyCare’s center is staffed by emergency medical technicians (EMT) and will provide 24-hour safety and security monitoring for the customers of CDMA pharmacies. Executone Communications of Troy, Mich. will oversee the program and provide customer support.
“This partnership allows the CDMA pharmacies to immediately compete in a market where it had no previous impact,” says Michael Bodnar, general manager, SafetyCare. “CDMA will be receiving tremendous marketing and sales support from Executone Communications, while accessing a state-of-the-art medical alert monitoring system at the SafetyCare Response Center. This is an ideal opportunity for independent pharmacies, known for their individualized care of their customers.”
