SAIT-STENTO, a system integrator and service supplier for professional markets using wireless and wireline technologies, announces that its business unit, Communication and Security Systems (CSS), has signed a letter of intent with the Norwegian information technology company Comuniq ASA. CSS has entered into an agreement to develop IP-related solutions for SAIT-STENTO’s existing product range for fast access communication.
The cooperation will combine the SAIT-STENTO’s competencies in voice communication, and Comuniq’s competence in IP technology in order to provide tailored customer solutions based on critical voice and data communication over IP. “This agreement with Comuniq is the first step to bring CSS applications and solutions onto a new future-oriented platform,” says Liselott Kilaas, CSS business unit manager.
In other news, SAIT-STENTO announces it has reached an agreement to sell its business unit Airtime Services (SAIT Communications) to Telenor ASA, a distributor of analog and digital television services to end users in the Nordic region. SAIT Communications was part of the SAIT-STENTO Group and provides airtime services based on a multisupplier concept for satellite mobile communication users.
The divestment of SAIT Communications is in line with SAIT-STENTO’s strategy to focus on core activities and quick growth. “The case generated by this deal will contribute to improve our debt position and will enable us to realize new acquisitions and to further strengthen the company’s leading position in the core markets,” says Patrick De Groote, CEO of SAIT-STENTO.
