Bet you didn’t know Ben & Jerry’s will be holding their Free Cone Day on March 23. That’s fine for the ice cream crowd, but here’s a better treat with the electronic security industry in mind: A far more eventful freebie will be staged that same day … SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION’s 15th Annual SAMMY (Sales and Marketing) Awards, plus the 7th Annual SSI Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas.
No Cherry Garcia, but we have the hors d’ oeuvres and beverages covered.
Held on the eve of ISC West, the affair attracts industry brethren from across North America who gather for relaxed networking and to witness some of the industry’s top sales, marketing and installation practices.
STANLEY CSS, ASG LEAD THE PACK
Since 1995 the SAMMY Awards have endeavored to pay tribute to installing security contractors that demonstrate topnotch professionalism in their ability to attract and maintain loyal clientele. As the only program like it in the industry, each year the SAMMYs serves the wider installation and monitoring community by showcasing a kind of “best practices” in the pursuit of long-term business success.
The idea is simple enough: sales and marketing practices displayed by SAMMY finalists and winners just might apply to your business too. Let’s take a closer look at which companies will be vying for SAMMY glory this year.
Perennial SAMMY heavyweights Stanley Convergent Security Solutions (Stanley CSS) and ASG Security return again with an impressive collection of finalist nods — six and five, respectively — throughout the 12-categeory awards program.
ADS and SecurTek Monitoring Solutions have each earned finalist consideration in three categories. Alarm Detection Systems and ASG Security are joined by Provident Security in competition for the prized Installer of the Year honor. Stanley CSS is up for Integrated Installation of the Year along with Benson Systems and Ultrasafe Security Specialists.
SSI will profile the 2010 SAMMY winners and finalists in the June issue, while the Installer of the Year and Integrated Installation of the Year case study will be featured in the July edition. A complete list of this year’s finalists can be viewed below.
Of course, the awards program would not be possible without the diligent work from our panel of judges. They are: Tom Brigham (principal, Brigham Scully Communications), Jon Daum (co-founder, Daum Weigle Inc.) and Jerry Lenander (president, Syncomm Management Group). These guys are among the top marketing and PR professionals in the security industry.
