Sans Digital of City of Industry, Calif., introduces the AccuRAID AR212E, AR316E and AR424E subsystems with the PCI Express 2.0 x8 to 6 Gb SAS/6 Gb SATA RAID enclosures.
The rack-mountable RAID solution is designed for file servers, backup, audio/video streaming, and digital video recording. It is capable of daisy chaining additional JBOD storage expansion units and up to 122 drives. The bundled PCI Express x8 hardware bus adapter (HBA) is able to provide a direct connection to storage protocols such as iSCSI, Fibre Channel, etc.
To meet with the demands for higher speed disk array, the AR212E, AR316E, and AR424E employ a dedicated I/O processor RAID controller. The performance can reach to 1,400MB/s without transfer rate drop in RAID setup, according to the company.
The AccuRAID PCI Express extender series is supported by most of the mainstream operating systems such as Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7, Windows Server 2000/2003/2008, CentOS, Red Hat, SUSE, FreeBSD, Solaris, and OS X.
