ScanSource Inc. has moved up to number 854 on the 2009 Fortune 1000, jumping 47 spots from its ranking of 901 last year. ScanSource, a distributor of specialty technology products, made $2.175 billion in sales during its 2008 fiscal year.
ScanSource is one of five South Carolina companies and nine electronics and office equipment wholesalers included in the Fortune 1000, which annually ranks America’s largest corporations. Fortune 1000 is based on a number of criteria, including company revenue, profits, market value and earnings per share.
“It is always an honor to be included in the Fortune 1000, let alone to continue to have a positive move up the list,” says Mike Baur, CEO of ScanSource. “This is further proof that, even in a tough economy, our reseller and vendor partners continue to focus on growing their businesses, while our employees remain committed to cultivating these relationships.”
