GREENVILLE, S.C. – James Foody, a director of specialty technology distributor ScanSource Inc., announces he will retire from the company when his term ends in December.
Foody, 80, has served as a director of the company for the last 15 years, including service as chairman of the board from December 2005 to December 2009. He most recently served as chairman of the Governance Committee and as a member of the Audit, Compensation and Nominating committees. During Foody’s tenure, ScanSource successfully expanded into new geographies and product lines.
There are currently no immediate plans to fill Foody’s seat, which reduces the number of board members to five. Foody will retain his honorary role of Chairman Emeritus and will continue to be available in an advisory capacity.
In an announcement, Foody thanked his fellow directors, all ScanSource employees, shareholders, customers and partners for their support during his tenure with the company.
“It has been a great honor to be a part of the ScanSource team,” says Foody. “With the strong foundation and leadership currently in place at the company, I felt that this was the right time for me to step away and focus on my family and other commitments.”
