Former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge has been selected by Schneider Electric to keynote its 2009 Intelligent Security Symposium on Nov. 5 in New York City.
Following the theme of “Where Intelligent Buildings and Security Converge,” the complimentary event includes a variety of informative breakout sessions and an expo featuring security companies demonstrating the latest security technology.
Ridge was secretary of Homeland Security from 2003 to 2005. He is also a former governor of Pennsylvania and served in the U.S. House of Representatives. His keynote address will outline how countries, governments, organizations and businesses in the U.S. and around the world are threatened by international terrorism and how they can best meet this threat.
“In addition to keynote speaker Tom Ridge, the symposium promises to offer stimulating topics, exceptional educational sessions and numerous networking opportunities,” says Jana Gerber, director of marketing and business development, Schneider Electric. “Attendees will learn about security technology trends that will help drive additional efficiencies, reduce risks and deliver significant savings to their bottom line.”
Vendors participating in the expo include Pelco, Cisco, HID Global, Stentofon, Easy Lobby, Square D and Graybar.
The symposium will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the New York Marriott Marquis.
