Schneider Electric to Cut 97 Pelco Jobs by December

Published: October 23, 2011

CLOVIS, Calif. Pelco by Schneider Electric will lay off 97 employees by mid-December, according to The Fresno Bee.

Citing a turbulent economy and rising material costs as the reason for the job cuts, this is Pelco’s third round of layoffs this year. The company cut 30 jobs in April, and in September, Pelco announced that it would cut 50 jobs by the end of November. The new round of layoffs takes effect Dec. 19.

Volunteer layoffs have taken effect, reports KMPH.com. Workers received a 60-day notice period and a severance package for volunteering.

When Schneider purchased Pelco in 2007, the company employed roughly 2,200 people. Now, the company employs 1,500.
