Securitas Systems, a global security systems integrator, is changing its name to Niscayah to create a more independent identity in the market. The company is often confused with Securitas, a provider of guard staffing services.
Niscayah translates in Sanskrit to “secure and reliable.” The company hopes the name change will demonstrate its commitment to building a strong, long-term brand.
“The new name, Niscayah, will make us more distinctive in relation to our customers. The business opportunities will thereby increase,” says Securitas Systems CEO and President Juan Vallejo. “We will find it easier to describe our business concept, business model and our offering. Consequently, a change of name is good for business.”
Securitas Systems was one of three divisions Securitas spun off in 2006. Securitas Systems will continue to partner with its former parent company, Vallejo says.
The new name will be formally submitted to the company’s annual general meeting for resolution and is expected to be adopted April 22. Securitas Systems AB is listed on the Nordic stock list of the OMX Nordic Exchange in Stockholm. Following the name change to Niscayah, the company will be listed as NISC.
