NEW YORK
Published: December 19, 2004

Investor publication Wall Street Transcript is scheduled to present a conference, entitled “Building Security – Turning the Security Threat into a Competitive Weapon,” on Jan. 26 in New York City. Senior security directors from companies such as GE, Morgan Stanley and PepsiCo will be attending. Building security concerns will also be addressed with representatives from some of the largest landlords and property managers.

A highlight of the conference will be the increasing list of threats faced by building managers, owners and the tenants. “These professionals must meet security challenges by selecting the right combination of technologies and processes,” says David Wanetick, managing director of The Wall Street Transcript.

Perimeter barriers, surveillance cameras, employee background checks and biosensors are some of the measures at the disposal of these professionals. “These tools must be implemented not only to ensure the safety of the buildings and occupants but to avoid future liability and litigation,” adds Wanetick.
