Top 10 Security Stories From July 2018
The most popular security news, articles, features and events you may have missed from the month of July on SSI online.

Breaking news and major stories in the security industry tend to be hard to come by during the summer months. However, that wasn’t the case during July.
The month saw a handful of big acquisitions as well as a few juicy lawsuits.
In May, Arecont Vision announced it would file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with a plan to reorganize its business under new ownership.
That new ownership was to be Turnspire Capital Partners. However, Arecont Vision announced earlier this month that it has received a more lucrative offer from Costar Technologies, a company that designs and manufactures a full range of products for the video surveillance and machine vision markets at facilities in China, South Korea and the U.S.
Two more acquisitions that struck a chord with readers involved Allied Universal and Fibaro.
In legal news, ADT found itself at the center of a wrongful death lawsuit, while a shady alarm doorknocker ended up with a 1-year jail term and $4K fine.
The rest of the top security stories from July include Honeywell naming its spinoff, bizarre stuff discovered by airport security and much more. Check them out in the slideshow above!
