Security Summit to Emphasize Innovative Technologies

SAN DIEGO

The Security Network, a nonprofit group that promotes the development of dual usage security technologies for public and private sectors, will host its 5th Annual Security Summit in San Diego, June 4-5. Security Sales & Integration is the exclusive industry media sponsor of the event.

The centerpiece of the event is an innovative security products exhibition and competition with about 60 participating companies from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

Exhibitors are allowed a maximum of two tabletops to display their wares; typically company representatives are able to carry in their luggage whatever they are going to show. The limited display space is compulsory, in part, to maintain equitable visibility for all manufacturers. Hence, an emphasis is placed squarely on innovative technology regardless of the size of the company.

Competition entries are judged by local, national and international members of law enforcement and defense technology assessment centers from four countries. Product categories include: bioterrorism; command and control; communications interoperability; disaster preparedness and first responders; port and maritime security; information assurance security software; surveillance and sensors; and transportation and logistics security.

Conference goers – many of whom include CTOs and business development executives, plus senior staff from government agencies looking for technologies – can also attend a lineup of panel discussions. Also, keynote speakers on June 5: Admiral Bill Landay, Chief of Naval Research at Office of Naval Research; and Dick Schaeffer, Information Assurance Director for the National Security Agency (NSA).
