SEEKONK, Mass. – The Seekonk Police Department is asking the public to register the location of their surveillance systems as part of their Seekonk Camera Registry Program (SCRP).
The SCRP would allow police to contact the registered owner and request surveillance footage of a certain time or date to help aid in crime investigations, WPRI.com reports.
Registering a camera location does not give police direct access to the system. Participants in the program will only be contacted if a crime was committed in their area, according to police.
