LANCASTER, Pa. — Select Security, a provider of security and life-safety solutions for homes and businesses, has completed the purchase of five security companies as part of its expansion in the Southeast. The purchases added 6,000 customers, bringing the company’s growing customer base to more than 80,000.
The acquisitions:
- Tennessee Valley Protection, Huntsville, Ala.
- Southern Security Services, Nashville, Tenn.
- Interactive Alarms, Nashville, Tenn.
- Security Consultants, Memphis, Tenn.
- Alert Alarm Systems, Paducah, Ky.

Select Security was founded in 2003 and operates local offices across Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, Minnesota, West Virginia, Texas, New Mexico, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The company offers integrated intrusion and fire alarms, video surveillance, access control and home automation systems.
Select Security offers monitoring services through a network of four secure operation centers that are each Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed, Factory Mutual (FM) approved, and have earned the Five Diamond certification from The Monitoring Association (TMA; formerly CSAA).
The company has been named a finalist four consecutive years for SSI’s coveted “Installer of the Year” award, winning the honor in 2014.
