Sensormatic Electronics Corp. announces a partnership with Biocentric Solutions Inc. to provide a biometric solution to be integrated with Sensormatic’s security management system. Biocentric Solutions’ biometric reader, the CombiSmart™, is intended to strengthen Sensormatic’s CCURE Smart Program. The CCURE program allows smart card users to integrate smart card and biometric technology with Sensormatic’s access control solutions. The CombiSmart reader uses encrypted fingerprint data stored on a smart card, comparing it to a person’s fingerprint data presented by the reader. When the smart card is inserted, the CombiSmart system reads the information and compares it to the fingerprint image presented by the reader. A match is confirmed on a display window.
