SANTA CLARA, Calif. — ServiceNow, an enterprise cloud company, announced on Wednesday it has acquired BrightPoint Security. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to ServiceNow, the acquisition expands its Security Operations offering and enables customers to more quickly identify and respond to threats.
“This acquisition strengthens ServiceNow’s commitment to closing the gap between IT operations and security,” said Sean Convery, vice president and general manager of security at ServiceNow. “BrightPoint will further differentiate the connected experience that ServiceNow users have across security processes and teams.”
The purpose of acquisition is to help firms gain secure and controlled information sharing to rapidly prioritize and better remediate threats through Security Operations, ServiceNow says. Security Operations was launched in February.
“ServiceNow has spent a decade building the industry’s most advanced cloud platform for orchestration and workflow that now excels at responding to security incidents and vulnerabilities,” said Anne Bonaparte, president and CEO of BrightPoint Security. “Joining forces with ServiceNow will allow BrightPoint and our customers to realize our founding vision of delivering a closed-loop workflow for security response.”
The acquisition was an all-cash transaction. It is expected to close later in June.
