Sheridan College Receives License for CANASA Courses

An agreement has been reached between the Canadian Security
Association (CANASA) and Sheridan College of Brampton,
Ontario, which will allow the college to offer the Level 1
and Level 2 Alarm Technician courses. “This represents a
tremendous advance for enhancing the professionalism of our
industry,” says Tracy Cannata, the executive director of
CANASA. “With this agreement, the course material will
become more accessible to a greater number of people and
potentially at earlier stages in their career.”

The topics for the Level 1 course include input devices, detection systems installation tips, control devices and panel functionality. The Level 2 course is more advanced and includes topics like multiplex systems, radio basics and system troubleshooting.
