Shiver Security Systems announced the grand opening of its new headquarters in Springboro, Ohio.
The 40-year old family-owned security firm continues its launch into residential protection from a new 14,000 square- foot building, serving 6,000-plus clients throughout Southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky.
Shiver’s new station boasts the latest in high tech systems and quadruples the floor space of the previous headquarters, opened in 1991. “We also installed the latest technological defenses against power outages or extreme weather. For example, we installed fiber optic systems says Alison Shiver-Himes, Residential sales and marketing manager.
In addition to video monitoring, many homeowners embrace the automation features involved in ‘smart homes,’ such as thermostats, lighting, smart locks and garage doors, all controlled by an app.
The monitoring center also serves as a selling point for Shiver’s services. “We are local, our staff works around the clock. Our customers have support, service, training, quality Honeywell and Sonitrol products and professional installation,” said Shiver Security Services President Chip Shiver. “Being local also means we have extensive knowledge of local codes and authorities.”
Shiver’s services include sales and design as well as installation, support and monitoring. Products include systems for audio intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, fire detection, monitoring and more.
The new facility and addition of residential services saw Shiver add six staff members to bring its total to 55.
The new building also includes a training room where Shiver can train customers’ staff on commercial systems, as well as host many networking events.
