The Security Industry Association (SIA), National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) and CMOOR group will be offering an online Web event, the “Demo Derby,” on Aug. 3 to introduce the security industry to online learning. The Derby will let participants “test drive” new online courses developed by SIA and NBFAA.
The 90-minute event will begin at 1 P.M. ET and one lucky winner will receive a $200 gift certificate, redeemable at www.giftcertificate.com, for taking part.
“The benefits of online learning are tremendous,” said SIA Director of Education Jay Hanger. “Derby participants will have a firsthand opportunity to experience online programming from the convenience of their home or office.”
Online courses are a fairly new offering in the security industry and Hanger believes the Derby will help security professionals recognize the pluses of this type of alternative learning.
