The Security Industry Association (SIA) announces the appointment of Richard Chace as executive director. Chace succeeds Ron Spiller, who retired from SIA at the end of 2000. In addition, SIA announces the promotion of David Saddler to director of strategic planning and communications and Neil Ivey to director of industry groups and government affairs.
“Ron served as SIA’s executive director for five years, four of which, fortunately, included time we worked together,” says Chace. “Ron’s tenure at SIA was, among many achievements, marked by bringing stability to SIA staff; careful financial management resulting in the creation of a 12-month operations reserve fund; creation of the SAINTS Foundation, an industry-oriented philanthropic organization; and improved industry relations with SIA’s sister organizations. He has a very imposing legacy, one that I respect and admire. The SIA Executive Committee has generously allowed me the opportunity to serve in the position vacated by Ron, which is indeed no small task.”
Chace, who joined SIA in 1996, previously was the deputy executive director for SIA, where he was responsible for industry relations and research, and acted as the association’s chief liaison and strategist for government affairs. Saddler previously was director of marketing and communications for SIA, while Ivey was promoted from manager of interest groups. For more information about SIA, visit www.siaonline.org.
