The Security Industry Association (SIA) recently awarded 2005 Congressional Homeland Security awards to two members of the House of Representatives. The two awards went to Henry Bonilla and Steny Hoyer.
Bonilla (R-TX) has served for more than 15 years and is a strong advocate for agriculture and food security, border security, the military and small businesses.
Hoyer has served for more than 26 years and is currently in his second term as Minority Whip – the second-highest ranked Democrat in Congress. He serves on two committees that allocate funds to bioterrorism prevention among other security-related concerns.
