SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Security Industry Association (SIA) has selected Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) to serve as a keynote speaker at its 2013 Government Summit, scheduled for June 4-5 at the W Hotel in Washington.

McCaul is currently serving his fifth term representing Texas’ 10th District in the United States Congress. He serves as chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, which has oversight of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In this role, McCaul prioritizes the threat of international and domestic terrorism, cyber security, airport security and management of DHS.

Prior to Congress, McCaul served as chief of Counter Terrorism and National Security in the U.S. Attorney’s office, Western District of Texas, and led the Joint Terrorism Task Force charged with detecting, deterring and preventing terrorist activity. McCaul also performed as Texas Deputy Attorney General under current U.S. Senator John Cornyn, and functioned as a federal prosecutor in the Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section in Washington, D.C.

The Government Summit provides attendees with unique policy insights that help create new market opportunities. The exclusive nature of the setting allows one-on-one conversations with government decision makers. SSI serves as the event’s media sponsor.
