SILVER SPRINGS, Md. — The deadline for the 2024 Security Industry Association (SIA) Talent Inclusion Mentorship Education (TIME) program applications is Friday, April 26.
The TIME program, presented by SIA and its RISE Committee, is a mentorship program for early and mid-career security industry professionals.
TIME was “designed to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and empowerment of underrepresented identities in the security industry by creating a well-defined pathway for learning and development,” according to the SIA announcement. The program includes opportunities for career development, skill enhancement, recruitment and executive leadership development, the announcement says.

The TIME mentors “are an impressive and diverse group of security industry professionals, coming from a wide variety of companies and holding executive leadership positions and roles in engineering, sales, operations, project management, standards, distribution and more,” according to the association.
“In just a short time, SIA’s TIME program has had a meaningful impactful in the personal careers and lives of both mentees and mentors,” says SIA CEO Don Erickson. “Our previous participants have proven that engagement in SIA’s TIME program is a significant way for young professionals and students to learn more about themselves, their career goals and steps they can take to achieve short and long-term career success.
“Mentees will make valuable connections with their mentors, helping them grow sustainable communities of support, and tap into the wide array of career and leadership development opportunities available within our industry,” he says.
