SIAC Adds Law Enforcement Vet to Team

FRISCO, Texas — Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) has appointed Thomas J. Sweeney to its team to assist public safety agencies in managing alarm issues.

Sweeney served as chief of police in Glastonbury, Conn., from 1999 to 2013 and in Bridgeport, Conn., from 1990 to 1999. He has written extensively about police issues, particularly patrol operations and accomplished consulting and training assignments in more than 30 police organizations.

Sweeney was an early public sector liaison committee member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). Composed of representatives from the private security industry and law enforcement community, the committee’s role is to improve the relationship between the private and public sectors through the discussion and dissemination of meaningful data.

Sweeney is a lifetime member of IACP and the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association.
