Siemens’ Installing Arm Gets 2nd New Leader in 2 Years

Published: December 31, 2005

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. — Siemens Building Technologies Inc.’s (SBT) Security Systems business is starting 2006 much as it started 2005 — with a new leader. George West, who has more than 11 years of experience with Siemens, has been named senior vice president in charge of the Security Systems division for SBT. He replaces Alan Calegari, who has departed SBT after a little more than a year in the position.

West has more than 20 years of management work in the electronic security industry. Before coming to SBT in 1994, he spent 10 years managing sales and marketing for Johnson Controls Inc. Most recently, he managed SBT’s New England district and its three branch offices.

“George brings a wealth of proven management experience to his new role in our company,” SBT President and CEO Daryl Dulaney said in a statement. “We are confident that he will provide the level of leadership needed for the continued growth of our security systems business.”

Calegari took the leadership role at SBT’s fire and security system installation division in late October of 2004 and was profiled in the September 2005 issue of SSI.
