Siemens Building Technologies Inc. will help protect history when the William J. Clinton Presidential Center opens to the public this November. The library will include an integrated fire protection, voice evacuation and security system
Under its contract, Siemens will provide its XLVS fire protection and evacuation system boasting a monitor guaranteed to distinguish actual fire hazards from nonthreatening deceptive occurrences such as cigarette smoke and vehicle exhaust.
The fire system will also include an instant communication link to the local fire department as well as a refuge area for physically disabled patrons to expedite emergency rescue. This system will integrate with the library’s main public address system.
The security system will also provide access control, intrusion detection and CCTV monitoring throughout the facility and parking lot.
The $160 million complex, located in the 30-acre William Jefferson Clinton Park in downtown Little Rock, Ark., will include a museum and educational research facilities. It will house the largest archival collection in American presidential history.
