Siemens Sells Off Perimeter Protection Product Line
WILLOWBROOK, Ill.
Nuclear Security Services Corp. (NSSC) has acquired the Perifeld-M Volumetric Perimeter Intrusion Detection System from Germany-based Siemens Building Technologies GmbH & Co.
The Siemens high security intrusion detection system is installed at several nuclear power plants in the United States, various U.S. military and Department of Energy (DOE) facilities, and refineries throughout the Middle East, according to the company.
NSSC will take over worldwide distribution of the product line and continue to support the user-installed base out of its Willowbrook, Ill., headquarters. Manufacturing of the product line will be moved to the U.S. in the future, according to the company.
“Perifeld-M is the best kept secret in securing perimeters. Reliability and performance make Perifeld-M the leader in perimeter intrusion detection,” says NSSC CEO Inge Collins. “Relocating manufacturing and warehousing will allow us to better serve the customers. In addition, eliminating exchange rate fluctuations will allow us to offer the highest performing volumetric perimeter intrusion detecting system at an affordable price to the petrochemical industry, airports and others charged with the protection of critical assets.”
