Siemens Wins Contract for Fire Alarms at L.A. Water Treatment Plant

LOS ANGELES

The Los Angeles City Council’s Board of Public Works has approved a contract for Siemens Building Technologies Inc. to install a network fire alarm system at one of the largest wastewater treatment facilities on the West Coast. Siemens was awarded a $943,459 contract for the system at the Hyperion Treatment Plant, which handles the sewage water for the entire population of Los Angeles.

More than 400 million gallons of water per day is processed at Hyperion, built in 1950 and expanded in 1988. The Board of Public Works approved the contract for the capital improvement project on June 28.
