Silent Witness, a provider of CCTV cameras, and ComLink, a provider of wireless networked video solutions, have signed a software development and licensing agreement. ComLink will develop streaming video software to predetermined specifications, which will be licensed to Silent Witness. In conjunction with this agreement, Silent Witness has also become a minority shareholder in the ComLink Group. Silent Witness plans to expand into the emerging wireless and digital video information markets and increase the breadth and depth of products it offers to the marketplace.
The company has invested $625,000 in ComLink for 9-percent equity in the firm, which will fund joint product development. Silent Witness has subscribed to invest an additional $625,000 for a further 6-percent stake, contingent upon meeting key investment and business criteria. In addition, Rob Bakshi, Silent Witness president and CEO, will hold a seat on ComLink’s board of directors.
“The investment in ComLink and the joint development agreement is an example of our effort to produce and commercialize digital video products,” says Bakshi. “ComLink’s expertise in video-streaming software compliments our superior digital camera design and speeds the time to market.”
