Honeywell of Louisville, Ky., releases the new Piezo Dynamic (PD) Series sirens that feature 75-percent less power drain. The WAVE2PD and 747PD PD sirens produce a traditional speaker sound while only drawing 25 percent of the current typically used by traditional units. This allows installers to utilize more siren units on an alarm panel without overloading the power supply. In addition, the PD Series sirens can be used as an external sounder on a LYNX wireless system.
Honeywell recommends PD sirens for residential applications. Versions are available with a tamper switch to provide additional security in applications where the risk of tampering is present.
