Q: I am looking for siren drivers with temporal output. Do you know of a source for such an item?
A: You my want to check out the Elk. Check out models ELK-110, ELK-120, ELK-55, ELK-155RT. Go to www.elkproducts.com.
Q: I have a residential installation in which I have to place a PIR looking at a keypad area. Do you have a suggestion for masking some of the PIR protection area?
A: I would first suggest that you look at the control programming before masking your PIR. Most control systems allow for the programming of a “follower” zone that will make the PIR zone an exit/enter delay zone if the entry/exit door is entered first. Otherwise, the zone will be an instant alarm zone.
If you must mask a PIR, make sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions. You can have false alarm problems if the PIR detection zones are not properly covered. Many PIR manufacturers provide stick-on masking kits with their devices.
