Smithsonian Fire Systems to Be Serviced by Simplex-Grinnell

Simplex-Grinnell, a business unit of Tyco Fire and Security, recently contracted with the Washington, D.C.-based Smithsonian Institution to provide testing and inspection of the fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems in all 49 of the Smithsonian’s facilities.

The agreement contracts Simplex-Grinnell to provide the Smithsonian with all inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, emergency service and associated reports for fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems. The multimillion-dollar contract encompasses all of the museum and research organization’s office buildings, warehouses and museums, which hold more than 143.7 million works of art and specimens.
