Solar Panel Theft Heating Up

News out of Napa Valley, Calif., hit national airwaves recently but not for its world renowned wine vintages. Seems the bucolic landscape, not far from San Francisco, is becoming a hot bed for solar panel theft. Hoodlums are preying on the numerous solar panel installations that stand among the rolling rows of grapevines and elsewhere. To fight back, installing security contractors are being relied on to erect remote video surveillance tools and other means to quell the dilemma that some are describing as an “epidemic.”
