Understanding what data and power is on a CAT5/6 cable is becoming increasingly important as cables are becoming more complex. In fact, knowing what is on a cable before plugging in can protect expensive equipment and speed up installations. The Power Panel is the right tool because, once connected, it will scan each pin and display both activity (Volts & Watts) and pair location. Overall, if you work with POE you need the Power Panel.
