SONITROL, ADVANTOR LAUNCH ALLIANCE TO PROMOTE SCHOOL SAFETY

ALEXANDRIA, Va.

Sonitrol Corp. has partnered with its security manufacturer, Advantor Corp., to jointly launch a program called S.A.F.E. (Sonitrol/Advantor for Education) that will help promote safety and security for educational facilities nationwide. This national program will involve establishing a support program for the Sonitrol franchise network, which consists of 170 franchisees and distributors, to better provide the school districts and officials with safety seminars, awareness programs, security analyses, individualized service packages and a commitment to proactively campaign for safe schools overall.

The targeted market for this program will begin with the K-12 level and will expand to colleges and universities in the near future. Sonitrol’s vice president of business development/distribution, Chip Shiver, will be heading the school program effort with Advantor’s school program administrator, Bruce Winner, who has more than 20 years of experience in the security industry, including five specifically involved the education market. This program is in response to the expanding use of high technology in today’s classrooms and offices, coupled with a high crime rate and national mandate for a safe, effective education.
